Telephone Advice

If you wish to speak to a member of the medical team for advice please inform one of our staff who will be able to let you speak to our nurse or the on call doctor when they are available. Unless it is a medical emergency, you will not be put through to them if they are consulting. Instead, you may be included in the telephone consultation list. This means that the on call Doctor will call you back to discuss your problem.
If you wish to speak to a particular member of the team who is already dealing with your problem, please inform staff accordingly, and they will advise you of his on call duty. Please note that telephone consultations cannot be booked in advance, so you would need to phone on the day. When the doctor you normally see is away, there will always be a doctor on call who can help you with any problems in his or her absence. When one of the doctors is away on annual leave, it may be necessary for the practice to employ a locum doctor in order to maintain the number of appointments available to patients. All locums employed by the Practice have completed their GP training and have been thoroughly checked by both the Agency and the Surgery.
